depth of shelves

The details say the shelves are 15" deep and the unit 12" wide. Is this description accurate? From the picture, the proportions look more like the unit is 15" wide and shelves are 12" deep. A 15" deep shelf is pretty deep and the unit would project a lot from the wall if that is accurate.
