Great Kettle

This is our second one as the first one stopped working - very happy with it.
Boils very quickly and keeps the water very hot. Much better than the plastic models.
Really like the light on the handle, good reminder that the kettle is on.

Looks good but performs poorly

We have had this kettle for about two years. We paid a high price for a stainless steel kettle not made in China. But what we didn't expect was that the kettle wouldn't shut off until the kitchen was full of steam. Also, within only a few months the pretty blue light started working sporadically. We contacted Breville about the kettle not shutting off automatically and were told that we weren't putting enough water in it (you are supposed to fill to a line in the kettle). The kettles I have at work switch off with one cup or two cups of water in them. To fix our Breville problem we have put a piece of tin foil over the spout - it now switches off when it has come to a boil. This kettle looks good but certainly doesn't perform like it should for the kind of money spent!!!

Love this kettle!

I shopped around a lot before I bought this kettle. I believe that this one is the best value for what you get. I really like the "feel" of the buttons and the slow open of the lid -- quality all the way. It looks great, heats up quickly and holds a lot of water. The only thing I would change if I could, is the noise -- it's a tad noisy when it boils. Apart from that, perfect! Would definitely recommend.
PS: I bought mine when Sears had an online special of some sort and I save $20 or so. Bonus!

I like this kettle alot

It looks great on my counter. It's weighty enough to feel like good quality. It is perfectly balanced when I pour water out of it. The only thing that took some getting used to was that it boils for a minute or so before shutting off. Our previous kettle shut off as soon as it reached the boiling point.

nice kettle

We bought this one after some research on Braun kettles. Those are more expensive but perform exactly as Breville. It is over the year now and we are happy with "Ikon". Nice and usefull feature- "ding" sound when it stops boiling...Blue lighted water level indicator looks pretty cool and "show" the price.
There is only one thing to keep in mind- it is a single wall SS kettle, so one should be careful because the walls bicome about as HOT as the water itself at the end of boiling process.
