About the manual for exercise bike

I have purchased and assembled a body break upright exercise bike which actually turned out to be an Everlast for $349 on sale. I just can't understand the manual and the screen fades out for part of the letters etc. Right now I am pedalling on it without resistance but am starting to feel very frustrated. Can you help me?

Sorry, I can't help - my tension is too hard and will not adjust, plus it makes a very loud clicking noise.
