Quit working

I initially was telling everyone how great it worked. That was for two months. Then one morning I went into the garage to do some work and it felt a bit chilly (garage is very well insulated), checked the heater, it had no power, tried a little ceramic heater in the same outlet..it worked fine now at least my garage would be warm, but my hydro bill will be high again.

The downfall with the little ceramic heater is that you pretty much have to sit in front of it to stay warm, the cost of running it is sky high and it is a lot louder.

If it had of continued to work longer than two months, this would be rated at 5 stars across the board, but since it failed and was not abused in the least I cannot give it high marks.

If you are looking at heating a complete room at a reasonable cost electrically, I would highly recommend this TYPE of heater, if you are looking for one that lasts , I would not recommend this brand. It looks and feels durable, but that is only proven if it performs and this one didn't.

I plan on exchanging this one for another because it is still under warranty and we will see if it does the same thing with a second unit. I will update this once I determine the reliability of the second unit.

Pros:Â functional, Versatile, Attractive design, Energy efficient, heats whole room not just spot heating

Cons:Â Poor quality, unreliable

What kind of oil is in the heater? Is it something that needs to be replaced on a regular basis? Or is it the oil that this heater burns?

Hello,

The oil in the BionaireÂ® Digital Oil-filled Radiator Heater is simply a medium that holds heat well. It stays within an enclosed system so it should not need to be replaced for the life of the heater. The heater does not burn the oil, it merely heats it, which then radiates the heat throughout the coils.
