Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Very good heater, nice design too. Helped keep the heating bill down by spot heating cold spots that would have cost a fortune to heat with main system. It's also safe.

Maximum Temperature (Help)

Can someone please tell me why this heater does not reach its maximum temperature when programmed? I have programmed it numerous times and it stays at 24 degrees. How do program this heater?? Extremely frustrated!!!
Asked by: AmySept
Hello AmySept, According to the owner's manual, the instructions to set the thermostat are as follows: SETTING THE THERMOSTAT 1. Set the desired heat setting by pressing the mode button. 2. Press the thermostat/timer button once to activate the thermostat setting. The room temperature and a thermostat icon flash on the display. 3. Press the + or - adjuster buttons to select the desired temperature. 4. The thermostat symbol will stop flashing. The thermostat control will now automatically maintain the preset temperature level by turning the heater on and off. 5. To deactivate the thermostat setting, press the thermostat/timer button continuously until the thermostat button does not appear on the display. Note: The power light will remain lit during operation. Note: It is normal for the heater to cycle ON and OFF as is maintains the preset temperature. USING THE TIMER Programmable Timer The user can programme the heater to turn OFF after a selected period or to come ON at a pre-set time. Setting the OFF timer. 1. Select the mode and temperature you want the heater to run at. 2. Press the thermostat/timer button 3 times. The OFF timer icon flashes. Thanks for shopping Sears.

Maximum temperature?

Am I missing something? Even if I set the temperature on the unit to the highest setting (power level 3, 30 degrees Celcius), why is it that the heater never seems to actually reach this maximum temperature? The highest that I've actually seen the display read during prolonged use is 26 degrees Celcius. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thermostat

When you say it has a thermostat, does that mean I can set a temperature and the heater will turn on and off as required to maintain the set temperature? I ask because I need it for my infant daughters room. It happens to be a cold spot in the house and I need a SAFE room heater to keep her warm at night. Would you recommend this heater?
Asked by: Taber11
Hello Taber11, Yes, you may set a temperature and the heater will turn on and off as required to maintain the set temperature. This is a safe heater, however please be aware that the grill can get hot so do not allow the baby’s skin to come into contact with the grill. Thank you for choosing Sears.

How much mineral oil does it take to fill up the heater? How long will a 'tank' of oil last if used 8 hours a day, 5 days a week? Where can I buy the mineral oil needed for this model?
