Yes, the panels are able to be separated. When it is used as a gate, make sure the unit does not exceed the maximum width listed in the manual.

The extensions come with the gate, however if the opening is bigger than the gate itself, be very careful the adjustments you can make are only for LEVELING the gate, NOT adjusting the width, the gate becomes unsteady.

why different colours?

i want to buy the steel super yard and extenders, the only problem is that they are different colours. Can they b ordered in to match? if not it seems a little weird to sell a product and extender that do not match. it will look pretty ugly all put together.
