Rated 2 out of 5 by from The Bed is too big and has unstable supporters Just bought a Kingsdown Mattress (King Size) and The 'Avenue' Bed with headboard from Sears. We spend a lot of time leaning on the headboard while we watch TV and use laptops in bed. That is why we choose this bed, the headboard has nice paddings and it was comfortable when we tried in Sears Home. The Bed was easy to assemble. The Bed is supported by 4 legs and 5 supporter. 2 legs came from the headboard, and 2 legs came from the end railing (Can be seen in picture of the overall bed). The 5 supporters are located though out the middle of the bed (from headboard to end rail), same distance between each supporter. I don't know if it is a bad design or anything. Whenever we want to move the bed (with box spring and mattress on it) left or right by pushing it on the hardwood floor, those supporter will get slanted. If we need to move the bed and keep the supporter straight. We need to remove the mattress and box spring first, so we can adjust the supported back to it's 90degree angle. The supporter is not really a big deal to us just as long as we don't move or push the bed. The things that bugs me is after we put the box spring and mattress on. There is a 4 inch gap. Either you have the mattress against the headboard, then the gap will be at the end of the bed. Or you have the mattress a line with the end of the bed, then the gap will be between the headboard and the mattress. We can fit a whole pillow down the gap and to the floor. So to me, this bed is too big for a king mattress. I am consider returning it. But not sure how easy the return is going to be. The headboard is good and comfortable. Advise to everyone. The measuring tape is not only use to check if the bed fits the room or not. Make sure you measure the bed and see if it is a good fit for the mattress or not.
