Rated 3 out of 5 by from A good little unit, but I find it will not cool near as well as a window unit with only 5000 btus. Also does not have econo mode.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ole reliable Ten years ago, I bought an Airworks portable which still works as well as the day I got it. So when I decided to get another for my bedroom, I searched for Airworks and found that Sear.ca was the only source for them. It's a small room, so I got the 8000 BTU model. In the photo, it appears almost identical to my old one, but there are a few differences. It's smaller, has a slightly different control panel, which is simpler to operate. It is missing a couple of features that the previous one had. For example, the old one also worked as an electric heater, which is not an important function for me. Also, the fan on this one is two speed, not three. I find that on low speed, the fan is quiet enough to get to sleep, no noisier than the window fan I used before. And it cools the room quickly. Ten years of good use convinced me that Airworks is the way to go. Hopefully, this one will be as reliable. BWT, sometime over the years, I discovered that they're made in South Korea by Hyundai.

Will the exhaust hose drain water out of the window. Living in a condo, I don't think the unit below me will like to have water leaking from my window. Thanks.

Asked by: Chuchai
Hello Chuchai, The condensation will be exhausted as non-visible mist into air, no water drops will be leaked through the hose. Thank you for shopping at Sears. Have a great day!
