Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly engineered system 1. A brace that spans the width of the sweeper interfers with grass or pine needles being thrown by the brushes. 2. The hopper curves up where it connects to the bottom of the sweeper. It connects so high that again grass or pine needles cannot get into the hopper before being clogged up between the hopper and the sweeper, negating the whole idea of sweeping stuff into the hopper. 3. They manufactured the sweeper with metal and cover the gears with a metal shield which is excellent, how can the same engineers not understand the concept of dealing with the obstructions that cause it to fail. 4. May only be useful for dry leaves. Well that rules out the other 95% of the market.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 42" Lawn Sweeper Your instruction manual is terrible. Nothing but a bunch of pictures that are hard to understand which piece is which. And which piece goes where. Took almost three hours to put together. Next time I will have the store put it together for the $15 they charge. Well worth it. Also the bag material is very flimsy. Rubbed nearly thru it just putting it together on the concrete floor. Should be put together on a large piece of cardboard so as not to damage the bag. Product seems to work but putting it together from your instructions was rough.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excited! Can't wait to use it again! I bought this yesterday. CON: I did not like the Ikea style instructions for assembly. Frustrating and slow, but it got done. PRO: I can 'rake' my yard now without pain! I have a very severe injury to my right wrist that will always limit what I am able to do. In the years since this injury, I have been unable to do things like rake, de-thatch, etc. My lawn has gone down and down and down in quality. Now I can do these things again! YIPPEE!! Looking forward to a real lawn again! CON: The wheels frequently stopped rolling forward. They would roll in reverse just fine, but forward not so much. The tires kept popping off the rims, and the rims would dig ruts in the ground. One time it was easily explained, as I had driven over a vine that had wrapped around the axle. PRO: I LOVE being able to back into the corner of the yard and just dump the leaves into a big pile without having to get off my tractor!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed Used sweeper for the first time last weekend. Seam ripped after only using a short period of time. Also when the bag is only 1/3 full the sweeper gets plugged up & becomes ineffective. I'll be returning for a full refund!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Customer Service This summed I bought a 42" tow behind sweeper and the first time I used it I was happy. The second time I used it one of the brushes came apart and I was not happy. I e-mailed the company and they sent me a new brush. Again, I'm happy. Whats not to like? No more raking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great Bought 3 months ago and it works great. After 3 severe thunderstorms my yard was a mess and from leaves to large twigs the sweeper pick it all up. Saves me a ton of time!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely dissatisfied. Purchased this sweeper today. Mowed the yard and tried to use it, Left more on the ground than it picked up, No matter how I adjusted it,

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The fact that the brush does not work independently from the wheels, means that you must have a very flat yard. Whenever the wheels loose contact with the ground the brush does not spin. No spinning brush means no leaves and debris being picked up.

Backing up

Will the lawn sweeper function backing up ? In other words, does it still pick up while in reverse, or does it go in idle mode ? Thanks.
Asked by: Dudester60
Hello Dudester60, It does not pick up in reverse, it does idle or disengages when moving wheels in reverse Thank you for choosing Sears.
