We bought these for our almost 4 year old son to learn to skate. They fit over the boots fine which is nice in Alberta winters. They were not sharp, whish is also fine for a pre-schooler in terms of safety, and yet were good to practice skating with; ie they were not so dull you couldn't use them.

Super easy to use. Fits well over boots if put on in a warm environment, as soon as they get cold they are very stiff.

poor design

I bought these skates for my 2 year old son since he loved watching other kids on the ice. The double blade design is a great idea since it helps with balance. The blades themselves are of good quality and are easily adjusted to the boot-size thanks to a smart wing-nut design. Unfortunately, the bolt does come loose occasionally and needs to be monitored and re-tightened. The biggest problem though, is that the straps are made of very hard plastic which does not mold at all to the shoe. It forces my son to stand at an angle with his ankle twisted out - he can't stand flat on them! The plastic is so hard, that even 40lbs of weight won't bend it. I would not buy the skates again and would rather opt for ones that come with leather or cloth straps.
