Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Quality The rod is made well and I am sure it will last. The instructions we're not very clear so I took some trial and error to install it but, once we figured it out, it was easy.

Mounting

There is no wall space beside the window, so I'd have to mount it on the sides of the rod. Can it connect to walls at the sides, as opposed to behind it or the ceiling?
Asked by: Cheryll
Hello Cheryll, Our supplier has indicated that these rods would not be entirely suitable for mounting exclusively at the sides. If no center supports are used (either wall or ceiling), the rod can bend even under its own weight. Also, as the rod is an extendable set, it would tend to flex and not allow the glides to flow smoothly. Thanks for shopping Sears and have a great day !

Traverse Rods, how do they work?

Okay, I am new to this even after all these years. Am I right in assuming that I can hang sheers that are pinch-pleated with hook on the inner layer and then hang pinch-pleated drapes with hooks on outer layer? I want my window totally open during the day, perhaps not this time of year, but mostly. So I assume there are two separate pulls that draw each side away from the center, both for the sheers and the drapery. Thank you for your time. Gail
