I am very happy with this snow blower.
I ordered it online while it was on sale and it got delivered to my door fully assembled. There were some minor issues with the assembly (Curved washers installed with the curve pointing the wrong way) but overall I was very pleased at how it all came to.

The engine starts on the first pull of the cord and is actually quite easy on fuel. Considering the amount of snow we get in Quebec City, (snow banks are 8 ft plus) I still haven't run through a 2.5 gallon jug and I can usually go through 2-3 storms between fill ups (My driveway is just large enough for 2 cars). The machine has plenty of power to throw the snow over the house sized banks we have here.

I find it light and easy to move around but also because of that lightness it can be a little hard to keep in a straight line when it encounters rough or uneven terrain.

My only real gripe with it is that the first gear is way too fast for the amount of snow we get here and I have to let go of the traction lever all the time or else the engine bogs down and can't keep up. I've owned and used other snowblowers of various makes and all were much slower than this one on first gear.

I have broken 1 shear pin but it was because of my own stupidity. The machine inhaled an empty windshield washer fluid jug that got buried in the snow. If you are on a gravel driveway you may find the shear pins are a little on the thin side but I'm sure there are other "meatier" shear pins that can be used safely.

Overall, I'm very happy with the performance of the machine.

So right out of the box had an issue with the drive axle not being assembled properly. This caused one for f the bushings to come out and rendering the machine in operable. 20 minutes new and already out for service. Authorized repair facility gave me a hard time as I didn't purchase a product directly from them. Finally sorted it out and got it home. The chute froze after the first use, but it seems to be working now. Noticed a screw vibrated out our the top of the plastic housing around the muffler and key hole... I guess no lock tight... but I will say the machine has blown the driveway well. Slush and packing snow it starts to bog... but I pushed it through and it hasn't cut out yet. All in all thankful for the machine, it's saved the day. But I don't really have any experience with other machines it's my first one. Overall 7/10

WORST SNOWBLOWER EVER.

By

from Sault Ste Marie ON

Comments about CRAFTSMAN 27"" 11.5 TP Gas Dual Stage Snowblower:

I give this snowblower a neg star. Worst snowblower ever. Have had issues with it ever since i got it., Parts of the metal body have cracked, Sometimes it wont engage when you put it in drive you have to wait a min for it to work. Sometimes it will just stop and then engage the drive after a min or two. Sometimes it will just stop throwing snow and once again wait for it to work. Adjusting the snow shoot direction and height is a joke. Getting parts from sears in Sault Ste Marie is a nightmare. My 1st snowblower was a craftsman and it was good so I thought a new one was a good idea. I was so wrong. NEVER BUY CRAFTSMAN SNOWBLOWERS.

Great Snowblower

By

Comments about CRAFTSMAN 27"" 11.5 TP Gas Dual Stage Snowblower:

I have used it multiple times with heavy and light snow. The machine struggled a little in the wet snow but there was about 1ft of it. Had an issue with the chute adjustment cable freezing but called customer support and they sent a new one asap, no questions asked. I'd recommend this machine for the price.

Comments about CRAFTSMAN 27"" 11.5 TP Gas Dual Stage Snowblower:

I had an Ariens snowblower for 5 years, it basically stopped working after the first year and everything after that was a hassle that got me nothing in return. I started looking for a decent snowblower last month after I gave away the piece of junk to a high school for its shop program. I decided on this Craftsman 27" as it would be adequate for my driveway and I don't want to waste money on another lemon....surprise! It starts on the first pull...pretty easy tp put together out of the box and the staff at Sears....really helpful! Thanks Tony and Pete!! Good machine....

Comments about CRAFTSMAN 27"" 11.5 TP Gas Dual Stage Snowblower:

I had one (believed myself happy) but the drive may have been a bit 'light', and then one time / second time the chute deflector would not deflect (it was frozen - i get that), the one hand operation wouldn't (i assume it was frozen too), and when i was putting it away (wiping it actually) noticed a hair-line crack in the electric start housing which grew wider as it followed a screw 2 inches down the side.
the manager (and rightly so) says it had been hit, but i swear (i have an honest face) i never showed the machine anything but love and affection;
if any of you ever have the same experience, for my own piece of mind, i would like to hear about it

Terrible snowblower.

By

Comments about CRAFTSMAN 27"" 11.5 TP Gas Dual Stage Snowblower:

This review area make u put at least one star, but I really don't want to give it any. Unless you on perfectly flat ground it wont move. Actually even on perfectly flat ground it doesn't. Shear bolt bolts are grooved top and bottom so that the bolts are just a hair over 1/8" thick so they break if you look at them the wrong way! Craftmen snowblower are getting worse and worse! Why we continue buying them I don't know! Husqvarna supposedly makes them but obviously Sears tells them what low quality parts to use!

Comments about CRAFTSMAN 27"" 11.5 TP Gas Dual Stage Snowblower:

used mine just once (an hour or two in wet snow) then put it away - there is no point in stressing some part 'way in the centre' past its limits.
what i like about this machhine so far is it does a better job of arranging deep wet snow than its smaller brother (the 9.5) / and I'm delighted with the fact that I can guess wrong (I did guess wrong) and there was no problem their taking it back. (the shut deflector did stop working. but that's splitting hairs)
