Sturdy for the price

Comments about Thomasville Kids 'Southern Dunes' 5-Drawer Chest:

The drawers are sturdier than Ikea. The bottoms of drawers are made of stronger material than Ikea, with wooden beams to prevent them from collapsing when you put too many clothes in them.
Most parts were easy to assemble using their snap/lock feature BUT some drawers were not made/cut properly so the pieces didn't fit together easily. I needed to hammer and sand down some pieces so that was frustrating!
The packaging is flat-packed like Ikea BUT it is too wide to fit into a 4-door car's trunk. Would recommend delivery to your door if you don't have a truck to pick it up.

Comments about Thomasville Kids 'Southern Dunes' 5-Drawer Chest:

We bought two at the same time and one of the dressers was missing some of the parts so we couldn't even complete putting it together. The one frame was "curved" and "wavy" instead of straight hand-cut as if it was cut by hand and not a machine. The wood is very thin for the inner drawers - one of the the wood was cracked already and the drawers wobble as you open and close them. The stain finish doesn't look like the picture as it doesn't look professionally stained - there are blotches and minor indents literally everywhere throughout. It looks like an antique dresser that was from the 1950's when everything was done by hand without machinery - something you would get from your grandmothers old pieces. Now i have to take the one apart and see about returning them - hopefully with no other hassle then the obvious of taking them apart and lugging all the parts back. You might as well buy a cheaper one for the lack of quality - surprising for a Thomasville product.
