This is a sturdy, solid bed frame. The problem was with the instructions. The 3 diagrams on the box exterior were not the correct representation of the frame. The sheet inside also was not the correct sheet. After 2 calls and two emails to the company I finally received a picture of what the finished frame was to look like assembled. The process of determining how the various parts were to be used was extremely frustrating and took a week to resolve.

Sturdy steel frame, terrible instructions!!

Comments about Heavy-Duty Steel Bed Frame:

The frame is sturdy, but above all the good qualities is that there is a complete lacking of instructions! The pictures on the side of the box are not sufficient. I'm in the process of putting together, and have to keep going back and forth to online instructions..none of which seem to match my exact bed frame. It's quite frustrating.

Comments about Heavy-Duty Steel Bed Frame:

The diagrams on the outside of the box are not sufficient. The individual
pieces are not identified. I was sure I was missing some of the parts.
The ends were stuck into the side pieces and the centre support bar was going a different way then what I had seen on line. I was sorry I didn't order it from Sleep Country as they would have assembled it.

Nice and solid frame, and worth the money... But on a hardwood floor the unit still rolls with the brakes on! So sometimes my bed is cruising around the room!

I have one complaint and that is that my box spring catches on the rails where the bolt heads are. It could be my box spring.

This frame is great except the center support does not extend on the Double/Queen size, so with my Queen size bed, I need to either spend more $$ for the Queen/King, or not use the center support

Comments about Heavy-Duty Steel Bed Frame:

This bed frame was easy and quick to set up.
I found the wheel lock to prevent bed movement to be good.
I also appreciate the center support which prevents mattress sag.
I believe this product is solid quality and therefore will be durable.

Queen/King - adjustment - leaves extra bar protruding?: I may be a little dense, but if I buy the queen/king frame, but know for now I will need it for queen, so I adjust it to 60 inches....wont that mean I will have 18 inches - 9 on each side (due to extra bar for those that use it for 78 inch for King) sticking out from my mattress set?

Adjusting frame: Does this fram have a slot or just holes? I received a free frame when I bought a twin mattress set. The frame has holes and is too wide for the box spring. The next adjustment is too narrow. There is no mention of this in the description.

will twin expand to double: Will the twin frame expand to fit a double?

The sizes available for order (twin or queen) do not match up with the sizes described in the description. Usually bed frames accomodate two mattress sizes, but need confirmation Sears lists their bed frames as twin for twin/double and queen for queen/king.

Do not want one of the other frames with plastic casters nor plastic rollers. Unable to visit the local retail store.

          A:

          Hello Easternlan,

For each size, below you will find the correct item numbers.

          Twin 013058522
          Double/Queen 013058523
          Queen/King 013058524

This means that if you need a twin size you should order the twin frame. If you need a double, up to a queen (if you own a double now but may buy a queen set in the future) you should by the double/queen. If you have a king size, or plan to get a king bed in the future, you should buy the queen/king frame.

          Thank you for choosing Sears.

Assembly: I am wondering why there are no assembly instructions in the box with this frame? Can anyone advise if assembly instructions even exist? The basic frame was simple to install intuitively, but I had no idea what the "leg braces" even were before looking at this section of the website.
Also, how would one attach a footboard? The headboard is easy, of course.

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

          Hello Master,

This bed frame is single-ended and has only a headboard attachment, you cannot attach a footboard to this frame. If you require a bedframe to attach a headboard and footboard to, you would need to purchase one that states that it has brackets for a headboard and footboard or states that it is double-ended.

If you did not receive instructions with this bedframe, please email home@sears.ca to ask if these are available. Please be sure to include your full name, address and phone number in your email as well as the bedframe item number.

          Thank you for choosing Sears.
