Drill Bits & Attachments

Auger Bit

With a spiral design and a threaded tip, the auger bit is typically used to bore large holes in wood. It is an ideal bit for quickly drilling holes into framing lumber.

Extension Bit

Adding up to two feet to the length of ⅝” and larger drill bits, an extension bit is a good choice for drilling through blocking inside walls.

Spade Bit

This inexpensive bit is typically used to drill ¼” - 1½” holes in softwood. A spade bit is a good choice for boring holes in framing lumber in case you encounter hidden nails.

Cobalt Bit

Designed specifically for drilling stainless steel and other hard, abrasive materials, this bit is typically available in 1/16” to ½” sizes.

Rotary Impact Masonry Bit

For drilling holes in masonry, brick and concrete, this bit has a slim-profile carbide tip and aggressive cutting angles that provide good penetration and speed.

Titanium Step Bit

This one bit can drill holes of different diameters. Typically available in ⅛” to ½”, 9/16” to 1”, ¼” to ¾” and ⅞” sizes.

Wiring Bit

This bit bores curved holes to install electrical wiring. Typically available in ⅞” to 1-⅛” sizes.

Woodboring Bit

For boring larger holes in wood, this bit is typically available in ¼” to 1-⅜” sizes. Also, consider 16” lengths in ⅜” to 1” sizes for applications requiring extended reach.

Around-the-Corner Bit

This special bit allows you to drill a 90° bend or start a hole from one face of a stud and exit through the adjacent face. This bit is often used to drill pathways or electrical cable around inside wall corners.

Screwdriver Bit

Typically used on corded and cordless screwdrivers or driver/drill units, bits are available for slotted, Torx®, Phillips, clutch, square recess and hex fasteners.

Screw Extractor

This attachment is used to back out broken screws, bolts or other parts without damaging the existing threads or the items from which they are being extracted.

Rotary Rasp & File

For wood or soft metals, this attachment is typically available in flat or round styles.

Slotted Detent Shanks (SDS) Rotary Percussion Bit

Carbide tipped for drilling in concrete, masonry, etc., this bit is used with an SDS rotary hammer and is typically available in 3/16” to ¾” sizes.

Hole Saw

This attachment is used for cutting large round holes. There are two main types of hole saws: carbon steel for wood and bi-metal for metal and other hard objects.

Buffing, Sanding & Polishing Wheels

These attachments add versatility to a portable power drill.
