What if I get an error message when I try to redeem my Sears Gift Card on Sears.ca?
Errors can happen for any one or a combination of the following reasons:
• If less than 16 digits or alpha characters are entered then an error message will be displayed.
• If a credit card number is not entered an error message will display.
• If a credit card number is invalid for any reason then an error page is displayed. For security reasons the gift card(s) numbers that you enter will be cleared.

Gift Card Redemption
Now you can redeem up to 9 gift cards on any major credit card accepted by sears.ca when you place your order online.
1 . How do I redeem Sears Gift Cards on sears.ca?
During the checkout process, after you’ve entered your credit card information, you will see a section titled, “Are you using a Gift Card?”. Enter the 16-digit number on your Gift Card in the field provided. If you are using more than one Gift Card, click on the “add” link beside the field to enter more Gift Card numbers. You can redeem up to 9 Gift Cards.
2 . How is (are) the amount(s) of my Sears Gift Card(s) applied to my order?
Your credit card will be debited for the full Grand Total of your order. Then, your credit card will receive a credit for the amount of the Gift Card redemption. There will be two entries on your Statement, one for the Grand Total of your order, and one amount for a credit of your Gift Card(s) redeemed on that order.
3 . How will I know when the Sears Gift Card redemption is successful?
After you successfully enter your Sears Gift Card number(s) and a valid credit card, you will be transferred to the Order Confirmation page.
The Order Confirmation page will display the following:
1. The Gift Card Redemption field will display the dollar total of all successfully redeemed Gift Card(s) for the order.
a. If the Gift Card(s) entered are not successfully redeemed the field will display $0.00 and the Gift Card Details table will display the status of each Gift Card
2. The Gift Card Details table will display the status of all Gift Card(s) associated to the order. Information provided includes:
a. Gift Card Number - all Gift Card number(s) associated with the order. For security only the last 4 digits will be displayed: xxxxxxxxxxxx1234
b. Value Redeemed - total dollar amount redeemed from the Card. If the Gift Card has not been redeemed, the Value Redeemed will show a value of $0.00.
c. Balance Remaining - total dollar amount remaining on the Card. If the Gift Card has not been redeemed, the balance remaining will show N/A.
d. Status - shows the outcome of the Sears Gift Card validation. One of the following statuses will be displayed:
i. Redeemed: the Gift Card was successfully redeemed
ii. Inactive: the Gift Card cannot be used because it either has been depleted or closed for another reason
iii. Invalid: the Gift Card number was not found
iv. Not Required: the Gift Card was not decremented because the order value was filled using the Gift Cards entered in the previous rows
v. Expired: the Gift Card has exceeded 24 months since activation therefore the value has been reduced to zero and is no longer active (For Cash Cards past expiry or Gift Cards activated prior to October 1, 2007.)
vi. Pending: the order has been pended. Customer Service will manually process this order.
4 . Will I be able to access my Sears Gift Card redemption information in my order history?
Yes, when you access your order history, the Gift Card Redemption field will display the dollar total of all successfully redeemed Gift Card(s) for the order. The Gift Card Details table will display Gift Card(s) redeemed on the order. For security only the last 4 digits will be displayed: xxxxxxxxxxxx1234
Please be advised that there can be a delay of up to 48 hours for Gift Card information being displayed in Order History.
5. If I make a return, does the amount I redeemed get reloaded onto my Sears Gift Card?
You will receive a refund of the amount you return on your credit card as per our return policy. The amount that you redeemed on your order does not get reloaded onto your Sears Gift Card.
Please ensure you PRINT the Order Confirmation page for your records.
6. What do I need to know when redeeming a Gift Card for my pick up order?
If you have redeemed a Gift Card during the payment of your order and selected "pick up" as your delivery option, you will be required to present only the credit card used in the transaction when you pick up your order.
Please do not bring the Gift Card to the Sears Canada pick up location as the Gift Card has already been processed. Doing this may cause your Gift Card to be processed a second time, causing an additional charge to your credit card.
If you are sending your Gift Card redemption order as a gift, the gift recipient will be required to present picture identification matching the individual identified during the check out process as the gift recipient.
7 . Can I redeem an American Sears Gift Card on sears.ca?
No. Sears Gift Cards from the United States cannot be redeemed in Canada. Only Sears Canada Gift Cards can be used on sears.ca.
8 . What denominations can I choose for my Sears Gift Cards?
Online Gift Cards are available in set amounts ranging from $25-$200. In retail stores any denomination can be loaded from $5-$500. The Sears Gift Card is a stored value Card redeemable for purchases simply by swiping it at point of sale at Sears. The Card can be swiped multiple times until the full value is spent.
9 . Are there any fees or administration charges involved?
There are no fees of any kind when purchasing a Sears Gift Card.
10 . Will I require a PIN or ID Number?
No, the Card will simply be swiped at the point of sale.
11 . How will I know how much value is remaining on my Card?
The sales receipt for each purchase you make with your Card will itemize the value remaining. You can also find out the remaining value by asking a Sears salesperson to swipe the Card at point of sale. Or simply call 1-800-400-1000 with your Card number and we'll be able to tell you over the phone.
12 . Can a Gift Card be used to make a payment on a Sears account?
Sears Gift Cards are valid for the purchase of Sears merchandise or services. Cards are not redeemable for cash, or credit in whole or in part. It cannot be used as payment on any Sears account. It cannot be used to purchase 3rd party gift cards or pre-paid cards.
13 . Do Sears Gift Card purchases earn Sears ClubTM Points?
Sears ClubTM Points are not issued on Gift Card purchases.
14 . Is there a limit to the dollar value per Card, or per purchase?
The maximum value for each Gift Card is $500.00. The Card can be used all at once to pay for merchandise or service, or used for several purchases over time as long as there is value remaining.
15 . Do Sears Gift Cards ever expire?
There are no expiry dates on Gift Cards sold on or after October 1, 2007 which applies to Gift Cards sold in all Sears Canada stores, on-line, or via Catalogue. Sears Canada loyalty programs cards "Rewards Cards" and promotional Cash Cards are not covered by legislation and will continue to expire as indicated on either the front or back of the Card as follows:
Reward Cards : "This Card will expire 6 months after the date of issue."
Promotional Cards (Cash Cards): "This Card will expire after the dates indicated on the front of the Card"
The terms and conditions of Gift Cards sold prior to October 1, 2007 will not be affected by the new legislation and continue to expire 24 months after the date of purchase. You may check the expiry date and balance remaining by calling 1-800-400-1000 or at any Sears retail store. After expiry, any remaining balance will not be returned.
16 . Can Gift Cards be 'reloaded' with additional amounts?
Cards cannot be "topped up" after being used, however additional Cards can be purchased. Also, balances cannot be transferred from one Card to another unless the original Card has been damaged, in which case a replacement Card will be issued.
17 . What happens if a Gift Card is lost or stolen?
Since Cards are almost like cash, we cannot issue replacements for lost or stolen Cards. In the unlikely event your order of Cards is lost during delivery to you; we can deactivate the Cards in our system and issue you a new supply.
18 . Where are Gift Cards redeemable?
Cards are redeemable for the extensive Sears selection of goods and services with the exception of Flowers by Sears®, Sears HomeCentral® (parts and service).

1. How long does it take to receive my order?
Once we receive your order and payment you can expect fulfillment in 4-5 business days.
2. How are the Gift Cards shipped?
Sears Gift Cards are shipped with UPS in bulk to one address free of charge. We cannot ship to PO Boxes or foreign addresses.
3. Can I check the balance on my Gift Card?
Balances can be checked by calling 1-800-400-1000 or visiting any Sears retail store.
4. Do Sears Gift Cards have an expiry date?
There are no expiry dates on Sears Gift Cards sold after October 1, 2007.
5. Where can I redeem a Sears Gift Card?
Sears Gift Cards are redeemable in any of our stores including our Home, Outlet and Dealer Stores, catalogue and online at www.sears.ca. Our Gift Cards are only redeemable in Canada.
6. Can I redeem an American Sears Gift Card on sears.ca?
No. Sears Gift Cards from the United States cannot be redeemed in Canada. Only Sears Canada Gift Cards can be used on sears.ca.
